DeLaval Herringbone Milking Parlour HB50

In a DeLaval HB50 herringbone parlour, the milking machines are positioned along the centre “spine” of the parlour, with cows standing at an angle on either side. As cows enter, they line up along each ‘fish bone’, creating two rows for efficient, organised milking.

Description

Key Benefits

Strong and Durable Design
The DeLaval HB50 is built for longevity. Rump rail and frame components are manufactured from 50 mm (2″) steel tubing, while the suspended beam frame adds strength and stability. The 2½” x 5″ rectangular beam frame provides rigidity for even large parlours. Slanted galvanised butt pans are standard, with stainless steel available as an option. All welded components are hot-dip galvanised for long service life.

Operator Comfort and Safety
Operator safety is a priority. With no posts between the butt pan and curbing, there is no risk of the milker’s arm being kicked against a post. The offset top rump rail follows the natural standing position of the cow, allowing cows to stand closer to the operator pit. Optional air indexing moves cows closer to the kick rail and butt pan, making udders easier to reach, speeding up cluster attachment, and reducing back strain.

Good Cow Flow
The entrance gate opens fully for easy cow entry onto the wide platform. A cow blocker ensures cows stand in the correct position, protecting the last cow while supporting optional electronic Cow ID. Swing-type entrance and exit gates allow smooth movement, with exit gates operable manually or via an optional vacuum-powered cylinder.
